"SPRING" Detail
Mixed Media
11ft high, 3ft wide, 3ft deep (3.66 meters x .91 meters x .91 meters)

“Spring” is a sculptural meditation on the synthetic reconstruction of nature in the modern age. A faux tree composed of a patchwork of artificial textures and marketing materials, rises from a well-like base made of wood, plaster, and industrial fittings. The colors evoke both seasonal renewal and the unsettling artifice of simulated growth. A stylized woodcut floral motifs embedded with tufts of artificial moss spill onto the floor, referencing manipulated landscapes of urban planning. The attachment of a broken water pipe speaks to humanity’s compulsion to replicate and control the natural world—raising questions about what is lost when beauty is manufactured rather than grown.
